-On June 4th, a super adorable little Brussels Griffon puppy named "Chewbacca" came in to see Dr. Kreier for vomiting and diarrhea. A parvovirus test was done in the clinic, and came up positive. :(  Chewie was hospitalized here for treatment until June 10th, when he was finally cleared by Dr. Kreier to be homeward bound. During his treatment he had to overcome several rounds of medications and days of isolation, since Parvovirus is highly contagious. He is expected to have a full recovery, and was extremely excited to see mom when he was discharged!!

-Dr. Servantez treated a maltese named "Mr. Wu" for urinary obstruction and bladder stones. After the surgery, Mr. Wu recovered well, but the next day developed neurological symptoms related to a decrease in electrolytes. Suddenly, Mr. Wu began seizing and needed rapid treatment. With IV Fluids and emergency medicine from Dr. Servantez and his team, Mr. Wu recovered smoothly with no further symptoms and was discharged the next day!

- Dr. Reed performed a PU (perineal urethstrotomy) Surgery on a kitty named Stormy who had a bad run of luck with urinary blockages at a very young age. Basically this surgery rerouted his urethra so instead of urinating like a boy, he urinates like a girl. HE'S DOING GREAT...however, the ecollar he was sent home with may have gotten the best of him...see below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FccK8fTUnJU

- Friends of Noah, the local rescue that we are working with, has had an overwhelming response to the quest for volunteers and foster families. They get new animals needing homes every week! If anyone is interested, they have SEVERAL kittens being fostered right now that need permanent homes! Janet cared for one that was brought in after hours on June 9th. The little black and white female had been found wandering around on the interstate!! She is currently being fostered, in homes to locate a permanent family soon.

- The large animal department has been SUPER busy!! If you didn't already know, they cover a 100 mile radius ranging from New Glarus up to Columbus, heading East to East Troy and all the way down to Belvidere. If you see them on the roads, honk!!
Even though his eyes don't show it, he was very happy to see his family after 6 days of isolated hospitalization. We wish him well!!
Here's Chewie prior to being sick, on his first visit to the clinic.
